As members of SUNA, each and every one of us can take steps to help promote the science of urologic nursing, an activity that is vital if urology is to continue as a recognized nursing specialty. This session provides an overview of ways urology nurses and associates at all levels can help promote the vision of SUNA to be “the nursing authority on collaborative, compassionate and culturally competent urologic care.” The importance of authorship, manuscript reviewer, certification, policy and scope of practice issues at all levels is discussed, as we work toward stewardship of urology nursing.
