Issues affecting sexuality can begin as early as embryonic life. DSD can greatly impact both sexuality and fertility. A review of medical management and possible surgical interventions in patients with Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser Syndrome (MRKHS), complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) and congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) are presented. There have been significant advancements in the management of these patients. These are complex adolescent girls and young adults requiring provider support and understanding.

Cases include multichannel and video urodynamic testing, pressure flow and contractility nomograms, and urethral pressure profilometry.

This session includes discussion of the AUA/SUNA perspective on the NP role in urology, the influence of the APRN consensus model, and introduce methods to advance the NP role in urology as a way to meet the aging population’s need for specialty urology care. Issues relative to education/certification, legal issues, present and future regulatory issues, and present and future reimbursement issues are also examined.
