Implementing an evidence-based, validated, and developmentally appropriate screening guideline with visits to pediatric urology providers would allow child sexual abuse victims to be removed from abusive situations, receive appropriate physical and mental health services, and potentially decrease their risk for long-term physical and psychological consequences.

After completing this continuing nursing education activity the learner will have increased competency in reviewing comprehensive medication lists and comorbidities of elderly patients considering physiologic changes in drug handling leading to increased identifcation and consideration of pharmacodynamic drug-drug and drug-disease state interactions when managing urologic therapies.

Pelvic floor biofeedback and neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) have been shown to be effective in the treatment of urinary symptoms in both men and women. This treatment option is often preferred over medication and surgical intervention. Biofeedback and NMES indications and administration are reviewed during this session along with a review of the literature and current coding and billing guidelines. Case studies are presented.
