Adele Caruso is a nurse practitioner provider at Penn Medicine in Urologic Oncology located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In clinical practice for 27 years and specializing in urology for 15 years, Dr. Caruso is acknowledged for work on a shared decision-making model for small renal masses, bladder cancer therapies, and QI initiatives. Dr. Caruso is also recognized for her expertise in health policy and pivotal contributions for advancing Pennsylvania’s legislative and health policy efforts. She is author of multiple publications, including the bladder cancer chapter in the upcoming 2023 Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates (SUNA) Core Curriculum for Urologic Nursing as well as the first edition published in 2017; Chemoradiation Bladder Preservation in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy in Urologic Oncology: A Guide for the Advanced Practice Provider in 2021, and two recent journal articles. In 2020, she was inducted in the distinguished Fellowship of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) reserved for those individuals who have made significant contributions towards the global advancement of the nurse practitioner profession. Also in 2020, she was recognized for her leadership within the University of Pennsylvania Health System as a recipient of their highest award, the Barbara A. Todd Advanced Practice Leadership Award, awarded for excellence in clinical practice, education, research, and leadership.
