R. Jeffrey Karnes MD, FACS

Dr. Karnes is currently the Dr. Anson Clark Professor of Urology at Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN, USA. He received his BA at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and his MD with honors at SIU School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. He served an internship in general surgery and post-graduate training in urology and urologic oncology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Karnes’ interests include recurrent and advanced urologic cancers and has active research in prostate and bladder cancer biomarkers, and other clinical trials. He is on the teaching faculty of the Mayo Clinic urologic oncology fellowship and an active member of the Society of Urologic Oncology. He has been the co-director for Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine – Biomarker Discovery/GU Cancer Program. He is currently the Regional Chair of Urology in the Mayo Health Care System.
