Christina Hegan comes to us from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she works as a women’s health nurse practitioner in the division of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery. Christina is an active member in SUNA, serving as the current SUNA DFW chapter vice president and on the APP conference planning committee. She is also currently working as Principal Investigator on a SUNA grant funded clinical research trial looking at the impact of intraurethral lidocaine on urodynamic parameters and patient comfort. Christina serves as a volunteer writer for the Interstitial Cystitis Association, and she has been published in a book chapter on managing fecal incontinence in pregnancy and postpartum in a text by the International Continence Society. She serves as an interventionist on several NIH funded clinical trials through the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network, and she has also previously served as co-investigator on a phase II multi-site clinical trial looking at a new treatment device for female stress urinary incontinence.
