Leonard Gomella MD

Dr. Leonard Gomella is the Bernard Godwin professor of prostate cancer and chair of urology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. He is also senior director for clinical affairs for the Sidney Kimmel Cancer and is urology service line director for Jefferson Health. His research focus is working with basic scientists to translate basic discoveries into clinical applications. Dr. Gomella has given over 600 presentations and written over 500 papers. In 2017 and 2019 he served as urology co-chair of the Philadelphia Prostate Cancer Consensus on genetic testing for prostate cancer. Numerous awards include multiple “Top Doctor Listings” and “Distinguished Contribution Award” from the AUA and the “Jefferson Achievement Award in Medicine”.
