Helen Rittenmeyer has been the Nurse Manager of the urology clinic at the Univeristy of Iowa Hosptial and Clinic for the last 10 years. She became interested in sacral nerve stimulation when the physican she worked with brought it to the University in 2001. Since then, they have enrolled about 250 patients and Helen coordinates the care for all those patients. She has followed their progress through the years. She loves her work in the clinic especailly working with the varied patient population and interesting personalities. She said it's wonderful working with these patient from the day the discussion begins, through surgery and all their follow up. Patient care is her first love and it is a privilege to be invovled with the patient population at UIHC.
