Spina bifida is commonly associated with congenital anomalies of the urinary tract. Patients are at increased risk for hydronephrosis, bladder storage and emptying problems, and renal failure that may require multiple bladder surgeries. These anomalies are discussed in relation to the transition from child to adult.
