Description

Dysuria is prevalent in 3% of adults 40 years and older and is responsible for over 8 million office visits and 2 million ER visits. Although the typical causes for dysuria are acute cystitis, there are many other less common diagnoses and etiologies. The objectives for this case study presentation include understanding the risk factors for dysuria, being knowledgeable of the spectrum of differential diagnoses, and understanding the role of pelvic floor physical therapy.
