Description

During this session, there is discussion of the mechanism of injury to the pelvic floor resulting in pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD) ie; urinary and fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse related to vaginal childbirth using review of literature. Modifiable risks to reduce PFD outcomes related to vaginal childbirth are also discussed.

  • Discuss modfications in obstetrical care/labor management which may reduce PFD.
