Description

This session is designed for advanced practice nurses and physician assistants to increase clinical decision making. Three rotating stations will provide an introduction to analyzing coding case studies, treating erectile dysfunction and providing pelvic floor therapy. Participants will spend 45 minutes at each station.

Contact hours available until 10/11/2015.

Requirements for Successful Completion:

Objectives:

  • Identify the muscles of the pelvic floor and pelvic wall.
  • Identify the bony structures of the pelvis and anatomic landmarks.
  • Describe the examination of the pelvic floor.  
  • List some of the common pelvic floor modalities for treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction.
  • Describe penile injections.
  • Identify how to teach patients to use and be successful with the vacuum device.
  • Describe the process for helping the patient utilize the oral agents or the urethral suppository.
  • Define benefits of icd10cm/pcs.
  • Discuss basic urology icd10 codes.
  • Outline steps for a strategic plan.
  • Identify steps for implementation.
