Description

Bowel incontinence is perhaps the most embarrassing and socially devastating aspect of life in the patient with spina bifida and spinal cord injury. The mace and chait catheter have dramatically changed the management success of fecal continence. Patient selection; preoperative evaluation; surgical technique; and postoperative care are described. Urologic nursing care and patient education tools will be presented.
