Description

Prosthetics in urology have been an integral part of treatment for erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence for decades both in the US and abroad. Practical suggestions for patient selection for urologic prosthetic surgery will be discussed. Identifying and treating common problems associated with urologic prosthetics; such as infection; erosion; auto inflation; deactivation; and detecting reservoir leaks will be presented. Case studies will also be included. Models will be available for hands-on manipulation. Register early! This session will be limited to 30 participants.

 Learning Objectives:

  • Name the most common prosthetics used in a urology setting.
  • List 3 key issues to consider in selecting patients for urologic surgery.
  • List 4 complications that may be encountered following urologic prosthetic surgery.
