Routine screening for sexual abuse may increase the rate of childhood disclosure. Implementing an evidence-based, validated, and developmentally appropriate screening guideline with visits to pediatric urology providers would allow child sexual abuse victims to be removed from abusive situations, receive appropriate physical and mental health services, and potentially decrease their risk for long-term physical and psychological consequences.

Pelvic floor biofeedback and neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) have been shown to be effective in the treatment of urinary symptoms in both men and women. This treatment option is often preferred over medication and surgical intervention. Biofeedback and NMES indications and administration are reviewed during this session along with a review of the literature and current coding and billing guidelines. Case studies are presented.

Nocturnal enuresis affects approximately 6 million children in the United States each year. Due to the high number of children affected and the high number of nocturnal enuresis referrals to our pediatric urology clinic, families experienced an increased wait time for provider appointments, resulting in dissatisfaction and delay in treatment. In an attempt to address this issue and begin treatment as soon as possible, we implemented Pediatric Enuresis Education Sessions.
