Cancer services in the United Kingdom need to adapt to ensure that patients are supported throughout their journey. The Recovery Package is a series of key interventions that together can greatly improve outcomes for people living with and beyond cancer and reduce unnecessary hospital attendance.

The current evidence for PFD therapies and how to provide anticipatory guidance for women considering therapy are discussed. The role of the clinician is critical to provide a safe environment to discuss sexual health, ask sensitive questions, understand evidence-based therapies available, recognize their impact on sexual function, and provide holistic care for women with PFDs.

The rationale for mesh use in pelvic organ prolapse repair, its efficacy, and the unique safety issues associated with its placement by a transvaginal route as well as the future directions for managing mesh use in urogynecologic procedures are discussed.
