just looked at the archived lecture on TVM.

Are any other surgeons using a biologic like dermapure as an alternate for mesh for mid urethral sling? Have had great success in our practice with this alternative.

Thanks everyone for attending. Please share your ideas for next years conference on your evaluations. That is how we design the content every year when planning the conference content!

Good morning!  We are looking to replace our UDS table and are searching for recommendations please!  We’d like one with multiple functions—stirrups, flat table for legs as well as conversion to potty chair. Any suggestions for an affordable table?

Thanks!!

It is sad to believe that the bottles of BCG have varying amounts from 1-8 in them. Seems like you would not be able to validate any study as you really don't know how much the patient received, especially when you start given 1/2-1/3 doses.

During Gina Powley's session on BPH therapies, I had asked if MRI caused changes in prostate MRI and if it disturbed prostate radiation.

I found this on the manufacturer's website and wanted to share it with you all.

"In non-clinical testing, the image artifact caused by the device extends approximately 15 mm from the UroLift Implant when imaged with a gradient echo pulse sequence and a 3.0 Tesla MRI system"

As we know, 3T mpMRI is the standard for prostate MRI, so that seems significant to me.   A lot of patients who are put on active surveillance or who have negative biopsies and rising PSAs, undergo MRI of the prostate to help determine treatment.

With that knowledge, as a multiparametric MRI is ordered, you may want to make sure the MRI team knows your patient has had Urolift to ensure MRI candidacy.  The website also states the implant is radio-opaque so they will likely see it on any screening x-rays, but most of our MRI center's x-rays more often mention that the man has no metal in his orbits.  Also, MRI onto hardware can cause heat, and the manufacturer website speaks about that as well.

https://www.urolift.com/patient-safety#:~:text=Will%20the%20UroLift%20System%20Procedure,of%203.0%20Tesla%20or%20less

To the second part of my question, if UroLift disturbs prostate radiation, I actually found a cool study/article describing the UroLift actually serving as fiducial (border) markers.   This would imply that the UroLift is OK to be in place during radiotherapy.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27988266/

Does anyone have any case experience with UroLift with MRI and radiation therapy?

Thank you all, hope this helps!

Tom
