Our focus on patient care makes the nursing voice and experience vitally important in the rapidly changing world of evidence-based practice. Dissemination of specialty knowledge via publication and review, and our ability to communicate our specialty urology nursing knowledge, is vital to maintaining urology nursing as a recognized specialty and acting as advocates for our patients. Nurses serve in many roles, but these roles remain invisible unless we take steps to document the value and challenges of our unique roles. This talk takes you “behind the curtain” and introduce the process of writing and reviewing manuscripts- it defines ways in which nursing professionals of all levels of experience can enter into publication and manuscript review.
