This session focuses on the future of healthcare delivery. The current healthcare landscape lends itself to major changes, including elevating the prominence of virtual healthcare. Both technological advances and external pressures have driven telehealth to the forefront. A patient can now obtain limitless medical information from their hand-held device, making it both convenient and cost-effective. These advances in the healthcare arena will undoubtedly encourage the medical and nursing communities to explore the future of telehealth, successes, and challenges. Regulatory challenges remain a concern such as the boundaries of licensing jurisdictions. Guidelines vary widely across state lines and have the potential to prevent widespread implementation of telehealth services.
