Guidelines on the management of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in children have shifted from aggressive imaging studies and the use of prophylactic antibiotics to a more targeted approach. This presentation focuses on diagnostic imaging, acute and long-term management, and prevention of UTI in infants and children. The role of bladder and bowel dysfunction in children with recurrent UTIs, and controversies around antibiotics prophylaxis are discussed.
