Policy and practice issues for the NP working in urology practice are presented. This session includes discussion of the AUA/SUNA perspective on the NP role in urology, the influence of the APRN consensus model, and introduce methods to advance the NP role in urology as a way to meet the aging population’s need for specialty urology care. Issues relative to education/certification, legal issues, present and future regulatory issues, and present and future reimbursement issues are also examined.
