253 - Determining a Treatment Plan for Urinary Incontinence in an Older Adult: Application of the Four Topic Approach to Ethical Decision Making

The Four Topic Approach for Ethical Decision Making provides a set of practical questions that busy clinicians can use to make ethical treatment decisions. Introduction of the model and use of a case study to demonstrate how it can be used to create a treatment plan for urinary incontinence in a frail older adult dependent upon a family caregiver are presented. Current evidence on urinary incontinence treatments for frail older adults are also highlighted in the treatment considerations.
