Discussion of the use of blue light cystoscopy with Cysview® as an advanced approach to detecting bladder cancer is presented. The discussion includes how this technology works, its indications, limitations, and advantages. Also, facts about bladder cancer including incidence, prevalence, and risk factors are discussed. Case studies are presented involving the in-office use of this procedure and the role of the nurse in this process, including specific nursing interventions. Video clips and data areshared as well as nurse’s role.
