214 - Employment Contract Negotiations: How to Sell Yourself and Get the Most Beneficial Contract

Physician practices frequently want nurse practitioners to sign employment contracts. A contract typically covers not only duties, compensation, and benefits, but also may restrict the off-hours activities of the NP, claim ownership of intellectual property developed during employment, restrict future employment, mandate after-hours call, and specify how the contract can be terminated. The discussion in this session will help the NP in urologic practice know what questions to ask, what information to provide the employer, and how to negotiate specific terms.
