Androgen deprivation therapy for advanced prostate cancer can cause significant side effects and morbidity. This lecture describes a seminar-based service development which was devised to enable men to understand their treatment and side effects, to suggest lifestyle changes to mitigate long-term effects and to empower men to take an active part in their care. The rationale and implementation of this development are discussed along with its evaluation and benefit to men and their loved ones.
