Urethral pressure measurement and the Urethral Pressure Profile UPP are techniques used to provide information about the ability of the urethra to prevent leakage. It is a specific study that can be done during a urodynamic procedure. The information gained during the study may provide helpful adjunctive information in complicated cases of urinary incontinence. This session discusses the physiology of the continence mechanism; the equipment needed to perform the procedure; and the technical aspects of performing the urethral pressure measurements. The controversy surrounding the UPP is also explored.
