Dr. Bavendam builds the case for paradigm shift from treating bladder conditions to understanding bladder health across the life course of women as a necessary step to prevention of bladder conditions that manifest as lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). It is crucial that the stigma surrounding LUTS be lessened. The NIH funded, Prevention of Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (PLUS) Research Consortium is introduced.
