Pelvic health physical therapists are our allies in treating chronic pelvic pain. They can help us determine if the 'issue is in the tissues' as well as assist in calming a central nervous system that has become sensitized to threatening nociceptive states magnifying pain perception. This presentation discusses how PTs can assist in treating specific diagnosis, such as painful bladder syndrome/IC, chronic UTIs, and post-cesarean section pain. Case studies provide an overview of the therapist's treatment toolbox from manual therapy to movement analysis, prescriptive exercise, pain neuroscience education, and lifestyle modification.
