Dr. Melinda New is professor of clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where she has practiced and taught for the past 19 years. Since her arrival at Vanderbilt, Dr. New narrowed her practice to include operative and office Gynecology. In 2017, recognizing the need for specialty clinic to serve women with complex lower genital tract symptoms, she developed and opened the Vanderbilt Center for Vulvar and Vaginal Disorders. In addition to patient care, the Center is a place to help educate nurse practitioners, medical students, residents and fellows in the care of women presenting with complex vulvar and vaginal disorders. Dr. New is a member of the ISSVD (International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease) as well as ASCCP (American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical pathology).
