Mr. Robinson oversees more than 500 Public Works employees and a $230 million budget. Public Works provides services to the city’s 850,000 residents and maintains its massive infrastructure, including more than 3,000 miles of roads and nine million square feet of public building space – all spread across 840 square miles.
Mr. Robinson came to his current position following 40 years in the public and private sectors. He earned his master’s degree in Civil Engineering at N.C. State University and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of North Florida.
Mr. Robinson has achieved great professional success, including being named the 2013 Northeast Florida Engineer of the Year. He is a member of the United Way Tocqueville Society and is active with a number of Jacksonville-area civic and leadership organizations as well as participation on various City task forces and committees.
