The bladder diary has been cited as a valuable tool when assessing patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Diaries provide a wealth of information and also can be used when assessing progress following bladder retraining. LUTS assessment involves stratifying symptomatology into voiding symptoms, storage symptoms, and post micturition symptoms. LUTS assessment and how bladder diaries as a valuable tool to assist clinicians in assessing this patient group will be discussed.
