Heather Gunn is currently the Education Specialist for the Workplace Violence Prevention Program at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. She oversees the educational requirements for the organization and partners with external vendors to provide verbal and physical skills that address preventative and reactive solutions to workplace violence. Heather also worked within the Nursing Education Department at Mayo Clinic for 7 years supporting not only workplace violence prevention, but also the cardiac life support program, the safe patient handling program and Covid vaccination efforts for staff and community members. Before beginning her career as an educator at Mayo Clinic, Heather spent 12 years as a bedside nurse and supervisor in a variety of settings giving her just over 20 years of experience supporting patients and staff in the healthcare setting. Heather has a Master of Science degree in nursing with an emphasis on nursing education, an associate degree in psychology and is board certified in Nursing Professional Development.
