Gordon McLorie, M.D., chief of pediatric urology, specializes in incontinence and reconstructive urologic surgery in children. He earned his medical degree at the University of Toronto and completed his residency there. He completed a fellowship at both the University of Los Angeles, and Harvard Medical School in the diagnosis and treatment of bladder problems. He also has specialized training in kidney transplantation in children.
He was formerly a Professor of Urology in the University of Toronto, where he was an attending urologist at the Hospital for Sick Children, and thereafter held the Bicknell Endowed Chair in Pediatric Urology at Wayne State University, and the Children's Hospital of Michigan.
Dr. McLorie is currently a professor of urology in Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he is the Chief of Pediatric Urology at Brenners Children's Hospital. He is also active in research and is currently is a lead researcher of a study funded by the National Institutes of Health on Vesicoureteral Reflux. He is also a lead investigator of a study of bladder replacement surgery, utilizing the bladder constructs, developed in the laboratory at Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine. He is the author of more than 200 Scientific articles, and book chapters.
