Frances Wilson entered nursing as a second career, having previously worked as a computer programmer, developing and installing hospital-based account systems. She entered nursing in 1993 and earned her MSN and Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gerontological Nursing at Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. She completed advanced training and education at Emory University's Department of Surgery, in their wound, ostomy and continence nursing program. Her experience has covered a broad range of practice settings, including bedside nursing, home infusion, hospice, public health, foster care, nurse manager, house supervisor, and adjunct professor for both associate and bachelor's degree nursing programs. Since 2012, Frances has worked at UC Irvine Medical Center as a wound, ostomy, and continence consultant and serves as the vice president of the local United Ostomy Associations of America ostomy support group.
