Finding the best evidence for practice in any profession, but particularly in nursing, might be compared to a crime scene investigation (CSI). Although the analogy of the crime scene is far from comparable to nursing practice, finding the evidence to support practice follows a similar path to the CSI. The purpose of this presentation is to examine levels of evidence along with six previous reviews of research from the Translating Evidence into Practice column in Urologic Nursing. Research designs as well as the results of each study are examined and placed within the Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt (2011) level of evidence table.
