Chris Scheuler is the Program Manager for Mayo Clinic's Workplace Violence Prevention Program in Arizona. In this role, he oversees a program that advances Mayo Clinic's commitment to providing a safe place to give and receive care. This program focuses on preventing violence by increasing awareness and promoting early intervention strategies and skills. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, Chris was a Regional Security Director for a large healthcare system in Arizona. He was responsible for security operations at numerous hospitals, urgent cares, clinics, and medical office buildings, including a level 1 trauma center. During his tenure there, Chris chaired several workplace violence prevention committees and created and implemented programs and processes designed to enhance patient and staff safety. Before Chris began his journey in the field of healthcare safety, he had a successful career in federal law enforcement. He spent 23 years as a Special Agent in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) where, after serving as a criminal investigator in both foreign and domestic assignments, he was promoted to become the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of DEA in Arizona. He has over 25 years of criminal, civil, and administrative investigative experience, mainly focusing on violent drug trafficking networks. Chris has a Master of Arts degree in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Illinois State University
