Brigid Kiley MS, RN

Brigid Kiley, MSJ, RN, is an RN Quality Specialist in the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Arizona. Since joining Mayo Clinic in 1998, she has earned the academic rank of Instructor of Nursing at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science and is recognized as a Gold Mayo Quality Fellow. Brigid holds a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law with a focus on Bioethics in Healthcare and the Law from Loyola University of Chicago. She teaches ethics to M1 and M3 medical students at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, leads an Ethics Subgroup in nursing, and instructs new nursing graduates and high-acuity fellowship program participants in resuscitation and ethics. Additionally, she is a faculty member for the Ethics and Organ Donation Course. Her recent clinical practice includes working in a multidisciplinary ICU at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Brigid is actively involved in several committees, including the Resuscitation, Professional Practice and Quality Subcommittee, Nursing New Knowledge and Innovation, and the Ethics Subcommittee. She teaches ethics across various inpatient and outpatient nursing areas and spearheads projects that promote a safe and just culture for staff following high-stress, high-emotion events, such as resuscitation events. She has developed data displays for Code Blue, Rapid Response, and Medical Emergency Events.
